Distilled Books is a Sookshum product. It gives busy readers the key ideas of a nonfiction book in under 15 minutes, as text or audio, with personalised recommendations and a library of their own.
What we built
A complete, published consumer app, plus the admin panel behind it:
- Background audio with chapters, lock-screen controls and CarPlay support.
- Discovery and library: explore, recommendations, reading history and a personal library.
- Habits: streaks, onboarding, daily reminders and push notifications.
- Sign in with Google or Apple.
- Ads and subscriptions working side by side.
- A Supabase back end with Firebase analytics and crash reporting, and a Next.js admin panel for managing content.
Why we built it
Building our own product keeps us honest about what it takes to ship and run an app end to end: store releases, subscriptions, notifications and the support that follows. The same Flutter architecture runs in our client apps.
