What Information Do We Collect?
Personal information you disclose to us. In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us. We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Website, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Website, or otherwise when you contact us. The personal information we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Website, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:
- Personal Information Provided by You. We collect names; phone numbers; email addresses; mailing addresses; job titles; usernames; passwords; contact preferences; contact or authentication data; billing addresses; and other similar information.
- Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is stored by Razorpay — you may find their privacy notice at https://razorpay.com/privacy/ (opens in a new tab).
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
Information automatically collected. In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Website. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, and information about how and when you use our Website. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Website, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies, including:
- Log and Usage Data. Service-related, diagnostic, usage and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Website, recorded in log files — IP address, device information, browser type and settings, activity in the Website (date/time stamps, pages and files viewed, searches, features used), and device event information (system activity, error reports, hardware settings).
- Device Data. Information about the computer, phone, tablet, or other device you use to access the Website — IP address (or proxy server), device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model, Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, and operating system and configuration information.
- Location Data. Information about your device’s location, which can be precise or imprecise. We may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data telling us your current location, based on your IP address. You can opt out by refusing access to this information or disabling your device’s Location setting — note that you may not be able to use certain aspects of the Services if you do.
How Do We Use Your Information?
In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent. We use personal information collected via our Website for a variety of business purposes, indicating the specific processing ground we rely on next to each purpose below. We use the information we collect or receive to:
- Facilitate account creation and the logon process, including via a linked third-party account (such as Google or Facebook).
- Post testimonials on our Website — we obtain your consent before posting, and you can request an update or deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected] with your name, testimonial location, and contact information.
- Request feedback and contact you about your use of our Website, and enable user-to-user communications with each user’s consent.
- Manage user accounts and keep them in working order, and send administrative information about products, features, and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
- Protect our Services — for example, fraud monitoring and prevention — and enforce our terms, conditions, and policies for business, legal, and regulatory compliance purposes.
- Respond to legal requests and prevent harm, including inspecting data we hold in response to a subpoena or other legal request.
- Fulfill and manage your orders, payments, returns, and exchanges made through the Website, and administer prize draws and competitions you elect to participate in.
- Deliver and facilitate delivery of the requested service, and respond to your inquiries and support requests.
- Send you marketing and promotional communications in accordance with your marketing preferences — you can opt out at any time (see “What Are Your Privacy Rights?” below) — and deliver targeted advertising tailored to your interests and/or location.
- For other business purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, and evaluating and improving our Website, products, and marketing, using aggregated and anonymized information wherever possible.
How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law. No purpose in this notice requires us to keep your personal information for longer than the period for which users have an account with us, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if that isn’t possible (for example, because it has been stored in backup archives), we will securely store it and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures. We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not defeat our security and improperly access, steal, or modify your information. Transmission of personal information to and from our Website is at your own risk — you should only access the Website within a secure environment.
Do We Collect Information From Minors?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Website, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to that minor dependent’s use of the Website. If we learn that personal information from users under 18 has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18, please contact us at [email protected].
What Are Your Privacy Rights?
In Short: In some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom (UK), you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time. These rights may include the right (i) to request access to and a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure, (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information, and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. You may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances, and, where we rely on your consent, to withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal. If you reside in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland and believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. If you have questions about your privacy rights, email us at [email protected].
Account information. If you would like to review, change, or terminate your account, you can log in to your account settings and update it directly, or contact us using the details provided. Upon a request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete it from our active databases, though we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist investigations, enforce our Terms of Use, and/or comply with legal requirements.
Cookies and similar technologies. Most web browsers accept cookies by default; you can usually set your browser to remove or reject them, though this could affect certain features of our Website. To opt out of interest-based advertising, visit aboutads.info/choices (opens in a new tab).
Opting out of email marketing. You can unsubscribe from our marketing email list at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us using the details provided — we may still send you service-related emails necessary for administering your account or responding to service requests.
Controls For Do-Not-Track Features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized, so we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates a choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you in a revised version of this privacy notice.
Do California Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?
In Short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information. California Civil Code Section 1798.83, the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of those third parties. If you are under 18, reside in California, and have a registered account with the Website, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post — contact us with the email associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California; we will ensure the data is not publicly displayed, though it may not be completely removed from all our systems (e.g. backups).
Your rights with respect to your personal data include the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions; the right to be informed about whether we collect and use your personal information, the categories collected, the purposes of use, and whether and to whom it is sold or disclosed for a business purpose; and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. Sookshum Labs Technologies Private Limited has not disclosed or sold any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding 12 months, and will not sell personal information belonging to website visitors, users, or other consumers in the future.
Upon receiving a request, we will need to verify your identity before acting on it, and may ask for additional information for verification, security, or fraud-prevention purposes; you may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to that agent submitting proof of authorization. To exercise these rights, contact us by visiting sookshum-labs.com/contact-us, or by referring to the contact details at the bottom of this document. Upon receiving a request to opt out of future selling of your personal information, we will act on it as soon as feasibly possible, but no later than 15 days from the date of submission.
Do We Make Updates To This Notice?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. We may update this privacy notice from time to time; the updated version will be indicated by an updated “Last updated” date and will be effective as soon as it is accessible. If we make material changes, we may notify you by prominently posting a notice of the changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this privacy notice frequently to stay informed of how we are protecting your information.
